INGREDIENTS
- 1 century egg, diced
- 2 salted egg yolks, crumbled
- 4 large eggs
DIRECTIONS
Prepare the Ingredients:
Century Egg: Peel the century egg and dice it into small pieces.
Salted Egg Yolks: If using whole salted eggs, separate the yolks from the whites and crumble the yolks.
Regular Eggs: Crack 4 large eggs into a mixing bowl.
Mix the Eggs:
Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, and 2 tablespoons of water to the bowl with the eggs.
Add the diced century egg and crumbled salted egg yolks to the bowl.
Beat the mixture until well combined.
Prepare the Steaming Plate:
Lightly grease a shallow plate with oil to prevent sticking.
Pour the egg mixture into the plate.
Cover the plate tightly with plastic wrap to ensure the eggs steam evenly and come out smooth.
Tip:
When pouring the egg mixture into the plate, use a spoon or small funnel to avoid creating too many bubbles.
Steam the Eggs:
Fill a large pot with enough water to reach just below the level of a steamer rack and bring it to a boil.Once the water is boiling, place the plate with the egg mixture on the steamer rack.
Cover the pot and steam for about 11 minutes.
Tips:
Ensure you have enough water in the pot to prevent it from drying out during steaming.
If you're unsure if it's done, insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the eggs are ready.
Serve:
Carefully remove the steamed eggs from the pot and let them cool slightly.
Cut the steamed eggs into diamond-shaped pieces.
Arrange on a serving plate and enjoy!
